CorrectStar offers the perfect mix of
simple "point and click" technology
for those who are non-typists with keyboard
shortcuts for typists who are keyboard
friendly.
Using
the Browser based software, a health
care worker not comfortable working
with a keyboard can display scheduled
appointments, patient records, lab results,
messages, etc using only the mouse.
CorrectStar's
strong cross referencing means that
once an item is entered into the encounter,
it can be viewed not only in that encounter
but also in flowcharts, graphs and in
the appropriate section of the Patient
Profile.
CorrectStar
runs on a normal Windows network and
so voice recognition software such as
Dragon Dictate can be used if preferred
by physicians. Scanned images of documents,
pictures, drawings, etc are stored with
the medical record to be viewed and/or
printed. Documents such as referral
letters and patient handouts can be
created in any word processor such as
MS Word to automatically include patient
demographic and medical record data.
Cummulative Patient Profile
The Patient Profile gives a "snap shot"
view of the patient's record, showing the
most recent values and/or text for each
item. Certain items can be flagged on entry
to not show in the Profile and sections
can be further suppressed when viewing,
leaving this the perfect format to print
for transfers, hospital visits, etc.
There
are many display options for viewing the
Profile (full text, no text, brief text,
sections open or closed, etc) and each
user can define their own preferences
for the Profile to be stored under their
ID code. A custom header and footer is
designed for each institution which can
include your logo as well.
From
the Profile, you can easily produce flowcharts
of one or items allowing the physician
to scan the record for lab results in
conjunction with medications, diagnoses,
etc.
Encounters
Every patient visit is entered in an encounter.
Encounters can be accessed from a list of
encounters which is sortable by date, doctor,
site or type. In addition, you can click
on any date in a Flowchart to view that
encounter. Once in an encounter, you can
move forward and back chronologically through
the record using the Next & Previous
buttons. Again, clicking on any term in
the encounter will generate a flowchart
of that item.
Encounters
can be printed individually or in selected
groups and will print with the Clinic
header and logo along with any patient
demographic data.
Flowcharts
Flowcharts can be produced interactively
by clicking on any medical term in the chart.
Alternately, you can select a number of
items from the Profile and instantly view
a flowchart showing each item over time
in its own column. They can be sorted in
either chronological or reverse chronological
order.
Preformatted
flowcharts are also created and stored
both globally and by user for use in common
situations. Examples would include diabetic
flowcharts, prenatal flowcharts, INR flowcharts,
etc
Graphs
With no extra effort, graphs are plotted
automatically by the system from the data
entered during the encounter. Any physical
finding or lab result can be graphed and
viewed and/or printed.
ChartStar
Code
Physicians can use Code Display to view
the Normal Values for lab tests. Also, the
help function behind each code can be used
as a medical assistant for hard to remember
details such as memory tests.
Image
History
Digital images can be stored for future viewing
and printing.
Image History
lists all scanned images on file for the
selected patient. Related items are listed
together sorted by date.
Data
Entry
No need to know or look up ICD9 or CPT codes
codes when you use CorrectStar.
By
checking off modifiers specific to each
medical term, non typists can easily enhance
an entry with little keyboard effort.
Text
can be added by selecting from a list of
standard paragraphs or by pulling the last
text for that code from the record to be
edited or added to in this encounter.
Each
entry screen is geared for the type of item
being entered -you are asked dose, units,
quantity, etc, for medications, dates for
procedures and results for lab tests. Images
or electronic files of any kind can be attached
to each code within an encounter as well.
Templates
can be designed for each user to allow formatted
entry for common types of encounters (eg.
Intake screening, complete physicals, etc)
and quick pick lists can contain those codes
you use often. Lab tests can be added from
a unique quick pick list after which the
lab requisition can be printed.
